Our ears will be ringing in April this
year when an incredible 25 gongs
combine to flood the audience in
healing vibrations in a return of the Mass
Sound Healing Concerts that have proved
such a hit over the past four years.
The concerts will once again highlight
internationally known 'Father of the Gongs"
Don Conreaux accompanied by two
international Gongmasters who together
form the Healing Improvisational Ensemble
Another very well known performer
supporting this event yet again will be one
of Australia's best known didgeridoo players,
Richard Walley. Richard has played to over
10 million people in his life and is recognised
as a master of the instrument.
Since the first concert in 2007, many
hundreds have come to enjoy the sensation
of sitting or lying on the sprung wooden
floor to experience the powerful vibrations
from the massed gongs and other
instruments. Seating is also available if
This year, the 25 gongs will include
the largest in Australia, the 150cm Paiste
Gong from Switzerland, an instrument
that reaches into your inner self. Drums,
didgeridoos, a sitar and a number of
special sound instruments sourced from
all over the world will ensure the energy
in the hall will be fabulous!
As in past concerts, the audience
will be invited to join in chanting, toning
and moon drumming, and anyone
with a North American Hoop drum is
encouraged to bring it along. This segment
of the concert is one of the highlights
as the massive pow wow drums start the
rhythm, then everyone joins in with their
own drums or clapping to the beat and the
energy grows and grows to a point of sheer
exhilaration. Then it is back to lying (or
sitting) down and relaxing to the beautiful
sounds created from the stage and amplified
throughout the hall.
Quiet Cone International has organised
two concerts at the Craigie Leisure Centre

afternoon April 11. Due to overwhelming
response last year, the organisers have
