Research into the debilitating
disease of cystic fibrosis will receive
a boost thanks to a compilation of
10 years of recipes from some of Perth’s
best cafes and restaurants.
Publisher Scott Arnold-Eyers has
dedicated all profits from the sale of
The Masters of Menu Recipe Book
containing 47 recipes from well known
chefs and venues towards the disease,
which is a recessive genetic disease of the
mucus and sweat glands, affecting the
The book’s publication marks the 10th
issue of Menu Magazine and the 10th
birthday of parent site www.westcoastcafes.
Scott’s own interest is deeply personal
with his daughter Jade diagnosed with
the disease shortly after her birth in 2008.
“Since then we have done what we can
to help raise money for this cause but it
has only resulted in small donations. So
we decided that all profits from this book
would be donated to helping those with,
cystic fibrosis, “said Scott.
Jade like other sufferers faces regular
visits to hospital to scrape away the thick
sticky mucus that clogs the lungs, causing
breathing problems and making it easy
for bacteria to grow. Difficulty breathing
is the most serious symptom resulting
from frequent lung infections, but other
organs including the pancreas, liver,
intestines and sinuses are also affected.
The Masters of Menu Recipe Book is
available from bookstores, your local Cystic
Fibrosis shop or go to http://menumagazine.

In the past few years, a cultural
renaissance has been taking place
on the roof of the world and
expression through creative ventures
is at its highest rate at the moment. An
unfortunate byproduct is that filmmakers,
musicians, authors and other creative
people have been placed under immense
scrutiny while many have been arrested.
Organisers hope the festival will celebrate
this creativity and basic human freedoms.
“What we want to achieve is meaningful
discussion among audience members
while also shedding light on the Tibetan
situation via film and the arts,”
Tour de France winner Cadel Evans
will be an ambassador for the festival,
Tibetan Film Festival
A flowering of Tibetan culture will be celebrated in Australia’s
first ever Tibetan Film and Arts festival to be held in Sydney from
along with Senators Bob Brown and Scott
The festival will open at the Sydney
Opera House with a concert featuring
the diversity and multiculturalism of
Australia, headed by Brisbane-based
Tibetan musician, Tenzin Choegyal,
classical guitarist Tom Ward and tabla
virtuoso Maharishi. Karma Phuntsok’s
stunning artwork which features trad-
itional Thangka paintings in an Australian
context will also be on display. The
concert will then be followed by a panel
discussion with experts on the Tibetan
issue where audience members will be
able to participate.
