HEALTH HEALING & BODYWORK
The Emotional Freedom Technique
(EFT) is an extraordinary emotional healing
technique. It’s easy to learn and can be self-
applied or used with others.
EFT helps to reduce and eliminate
negative emotions and feelings and
supports personal and spiritual growth.
Scientific studies around the world have
validated EFT’s effectiveness.
EFT is essentially a negative energy
clearing technique. It includes tapping
on (stimulating with finger tips) specific
acupressure points while, at the same
time, tuning into (i.e. being mindful of)
a particular negative emotion, feeling,
vibration, issue or memory. Amazing!
The next one-day introductory EFT
Workshop is on the 28th of October ($175).
Private EFT sessions are also available.

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is easy to
learn and can be self-applied and/or used with others.
Dozens of scientific studies are gradually moving EFT
in the mainstream. Last year, the American Psychological
Association gave approval for its members to do specific
EFT training for annual Continuing Education points. T his
year, a US psychiatric journal published the effectiveness of
EFT when used with PTSD combat veterans (see web site).
EFT includes tapping on (stimulating) specific acupressure
points while tuned into (being mindful of) a particular
negative emotion, feeling, vibration, issue or memory.
This consistently reduces or eliminates negative emotions
and feelings and expands comfort zones.
Services: Introductory EFT Workshop on Sunday, 20th
April ($175) plus private EFT Sessions with Peter.

DEBRUIT AND ALSARAH
One of the great things about today’s world
s hrinking technology is that a project like
this really isn’t so unusual at all.
Khartoum-born Alsarah lives in
Brooklyn and sings in her native Sudanese.
Her comrade for this venture, Debruit, a
French producer, re sides in France but tours
the world with his uniquely fa shioned beats.
As a pairing, they’re a match made
in sonic heaven with her soa ring vocal s
performing a range of interplays with his
subtle production techniques.
No ordinary dance album, this rec ording
features an eclectic mix of styles ranging
from synth pop to dervish and Nubian
folk, and their willingness to let each other
step forward and grab the reins makes for a
perpetually interesting listening experience.
Tracks like Loulia and Jamilla feature
Alsarah’s voice with all its throaty elegance,
while a number like Khartoum sees her
become a lmost invisible as D ebruit strut s his
THE RIVER AND THE THREAD
Roseanne Cash’s latest offering sees her
ca sting a reflective eye over her personal and
music al history.
Given her lineage as the daughter
of Johnny Cash and her rejection of the
restraints that imposed (getting a n early
stagecoach out of Dodge via Europe and
California before settling in the de cidedly
non-C &W New York City), she’s got a lot to
look back on. But what this album seems to
focus on is the magnetic pull of the South,
with reference s to the Tall ahatchie Bridge,
Mobile a nd Biloxi.
Rega rdless of the g eographical bent of
her lyrics, though, what this album does
do in spade s is illustrate what a wonderful
music al partnership she’s forged with her
husband, g uitarist a nd produc er, John
From the seductive opening guitar twang
of A Feather’s Not A Bird to the spac ey
but intense Money Road and the gorgeous
interpretation of Townes Va n Zandt’s Two
Girls, the sound is muscular but sensitive,
masculine and feminine, flexing and
swaying to va rying degrees throughout.
There are some top drawer moments
on display, such a s the insightful words
that decorate Etta’s Tune, a song deta iled
from the vie wpoint of her father’s re cently
deceased ba ssist, Ma rshall Grant, to his wife
of 65 years, a nd the deliciou s combination of
New Orleans brass and Appalachian fiddle
on the Civil War ballad When The Master
Calls The Roll.
There’s a rich music al heritage that
threads its way through this rec ord and
the journey is one of misty panoramas and
A fine album.
Quirkily effective in its cros s pollination
of styles, Aljawal ha s the energy to get your
legs moving matched with the relaxing
a mbience to watch the sun go down by.
